Word on the Street
Dana and Jonathan C.
Max has been teaching piano to my kids, ages 11 and 9, for almost two years. He has an excellent manner with kids and is particularly strong in teaching music theory. I have also been taking guitar from him for almost a year! He is always professional and prepared.
Max was our 9-y/o son's piano teacher for almost two years, including one full year of virtual lessons during the pandemic. No matter how they connected (in person or on FaceTime), he kept our son engaged and excited to learn. One of the best things he did for our son was to teach him the music behind some of his favorite songs, that weren't necessarily beginner piano songs (e.g., Michael Jackson, the Weekend). Our son loved this and was more eager to learn and play for people. We highly recommend Max!
I really enjoy taking classes with Maxwell. Rather than imposing his expectations on the student, he'll meet you where you are at. He takes a holistic approach to teaching music, with a focus on creativity and student enjoyment.
Max is extremely knowledgeable regarding music and willing to share that knowledge with you in whatever genre interests you. He goes beyond just teaching you where to place your fingers. His intent from the beginning is to make you a musician rather than a technician.
Max came recommended from a friend, and both of my children (ages 10 and 6) have been taking guitar/piano lessons with Max and love it. Max has a deep appreciation for and understanding of music and shares his insights with his students, so his lessons extend beyond learning only the technical parts. He also plays multiple instruments, which is a plus.
A lesson with Max is well spent and my son has learned so much in just a few months. We are impressed by his music teaching abilities and grateful to work with him.
Hugely talented professional with exceptional skills as both an instructor and artist. So grateful for the music he has brought to my world.
Max is a pleasure to learn from: he is patient, cares about how I learn best, and draws from a deep well of knowledge and playing experience. Students will gain both a solid base and the tools to create.
My daughter really enjoys her guitar lessons with Max!
